What to do, what to do?….When friends come to visit on the warmest weekend of JANUARY!
How about a breathtaking hike with a constant view of the ocean?

And a somewhat over-the-top breakfast to negate all that strenuous exercise we did an hour prior?

P.S. Those plates had heart shaped waffles with blueberry syrup and preserves, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes with red and green bell peppers, and the oh-so-scrumptious bacon churros!

To wrap it all up a visit to the stunning Baileyana Winery in Edna Valley.

Oh yah and a lost night of debauchery at the bars, but that’s a given when we unite!
I’ll leave you with the bacon churro recipe. You really should make a point to make them this weekend. I mean really though.
Bacon Churros
adapted from Colin’s co worker’s suggestion to add cinnamon and twist the bacon
Ingredients:
1 lb thick cut bacon
1/4 Cup brown sugar (rough estimate)
2 Tablespoons cinnamon (rough estimate)
Procedure:
1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees F
2. Sprinkle bacon with brown sugar and cinnamon
3. Take both edges of a slice of bacon and twist them in opposite directions. Some of the brown sugar and cinnamon will fall off, you can add more if you want, but no matter it will be delicious.
4. Put the bacon in the oven to cook slowly so as to caramelize the brown sugar on the bacon. Will take about 45 minutes to an hour.
Scrumptious!
